Solo - race the clock
The fastest way to play Categorico. No opponent, no waiting - just you, the clock and 12 categories. It is a quick, satisfying brain workout you can pick up any time. How long can you keep the run going?
How it works
- You start with 60 seconds. Each round gives you a letter and a category - type an answer and submit.
- A correct answer is worth 10 points and adds 5 seconds to the clock.
- A wrong answer costs nothing. Move straight on to the next letter.
- The game ends when the clock hits zero, and you see your final score.
Why play solo?
- Start instantly. No waiting for an opponent - one tap and you are playing.
- Practice mode. The best way to sharpen up before a 1v1 match.
- Beat your best. Every run is a chance to top your previous score.
- Five minutes to spare? Solo is the perfect fit for a bus ride or a queue.
How to score high
- Favor short words. A three or four letter word is worth the same 10 points as a long one and types in far quicker.
- Lean on safe categories. City, food and animal almost always have an answer - do not get stuck on a hard one.
- Skip a dead end. Stuck? Take a guess and move on. There is no penalty.
- Prep the hard letters. Q, U, V, Y, Z - before you play, have one answer ready for each in the widest category.
